Choosing Your Serratelli Hat by Felt Grades and Fit

Serratelli hats are available in various felt grades, each offering distinct qualities. The X rating indicates the proportion of beaver to rabbit fur, so the higher the number, the more beaver fur included, which makes the felt finer and more durable.

• 10X Fur Felt: The top-grade hats with extremely smooth texture and exceptional durability. These Serratelli hats are easy to shape and clean, making them practical for daily wear. They are your best choice if you want a hat that will last for decades.
• 8X Fur Felt: A step lower in fur ratio, but still very high-quality. These Serratelli hats feel smooth, sit comfortably, and handle regular use well. It's a good middle-ground option.
• 6X Fur Felt: Entry-level Serratelli hats that deliver the high quality the brand is known for. They offer a smooth feel and sound durability at a lower price. Great value if you're buying your first high-quality hat.

Getting the Right Fit

A proper-fitting Serratelli hat sits about one finger's width above your ears and eyebrows. To determine your size, measure the circumference of your head at its widest point (across your mid-forehead, above the ears), and then compare this measurement to a sizing chart.

Caring for Your Serratelli Hat

A quality Serratelli hat lasts for years but will require basic care to maintain its overall appearance. To prevent the brim from warping, keep your hat upside down on its crown when it's not being worn. You can find a proper hatbox in our range of hat accessories.

If your hat gets wet, shake off excess water and flip down the leather sweatband so it can dry too. Let everything air dry naturally, as using heat may cause the felt to shrink and warp.

Remember to brush your hat regularly to keep it looking good and prevent dirt from setting in. Use a soft hat brush, starting at the front top of the crown, and brush through the crease, working in a counter-clockwise direction around the crown. Then brush the top of the brim counter-clockwise and the underside clockwise.
